Frenelopsis antunesii 1

An article in the Review of Palaeobotany and Palynology describes a new conifer species from the Cretaceous of Portugal.
The authors are Mário M. Mendes, External Collaborator at Univ. from Coimbra (Dep. Earth Sciences) and researcher at MARE - Center for Marine and Environmental Sciences, as well as Jiří Kvaček, from the National Museum Prague.
This species, Frenelopsis antunesii, was dedicated to Prof. Dr. Miguel Telles Antunes, to whom we owe much in the Stratigraphy and Paleontology of Portugal. This scientific result is part of the work on Stratigraphy and Sedimentology in the Cretaceous of the Lusitanian Basin, carried out by P. Proença Cunha and Pedro Dinis within the scope of MARE.
