On April 30, 2021, the 26 students of the Stratigraphy course unit and their teachers (Professors P. Proença e Cunha and Pedro Dinis) carried out a field day to observe the sedimentary succession of the Upper Jurassic, along the coastline.

Since the formalization of the Cabo Mondego Natural Monument (protected area created in 2007 through Regulatory Desert Nº 82 of 3 October) the owners of the factory that had been deactivated for a long time did not allow passage through the gate (even with an official request).

Recently, C.M. Figueira da Foz managed to transfer the 50 m coastline from private property to the Public Maritime Domain.
