The Le Kangourou des mathématiques is an international association that brings together mathematics personalities from several countries.
Its goal is to promote elementary math awareness by all means, and in particular by organizing a competition held on the same date for all the participating countries. It is intended to stimulate and to motivate the interest by maths of as many as possible students.
In Portugal this competition is organized by the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra with the support of the Portuguese Mathematical Society.
