October 13th, International Day for Disaster Reduction celebrated with exhibition and video with community testimonies
The Department of Earth Sciences (DCT) of the University of Coimbra has partnered with the Center for Earth and Space Research of the University of Coimbra (CITEUC), with the Network of Libraries of Santa Comba Dão and with the Alves Mateus Municipal Library (BMAM) to commemorate the International Day for Disaster Reduction
The Department of Earth Sciences (DCT) of the University of Coimbra has partnered with the Center for Earth and Space Research of the University of Coimbra (CITEUC), with the Network of Libraries of Santa Comba Dão and with the Alves Mateus Municipal Library (BMAM), to commemorate the International Day for Disaster Reduction. In this sense, until the end of 2020, the exhibition on "The Earthquake of February 28, 1969 in the press of the Central Region" will be present at the BMAM, prepared by the DCT, CITEUC and the Geophysical and Astronomical Observatory of the University of Coimbra (OGAUC ). Given the current contingency, and in order to complement the exhibition, a video was produced with the framework of the aforementioned exhibition and on aspects of Seismology, prepared by Fernando B. Figueiredo, director and researcher at CITEUC, Ana I. Gomes, researcher at CITEUC and Fernando Carlos Lopes, researcher at CITEUC and professor at the DCT. The aforementioned video was also enriched with testimonies from Santacombadians about how they experienced the earthquake of February 28, 1969."
