Erasmus Mundus Master in Planetary Geosciences

Starting next academic year, the University of Coimbra will offer, together with other European universities, the new Erasmus Mundus Master in Planetary Geosciences. Funded by the European Commission through the attribution of 15 annual scholarships to the best candidates from the European Union or third countries, this new Master's lasts for 24 months divided between Portugal (1st semester), Italy (2nd semester) and France (3rd semester). The thesis work will be developed in the last semester in one of the associated institutions. This Master will provide students with solid training in a collaborative environment, in an area that has seen a strong expansion in recent decades, as attested by the high number of space missions. The 'Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters' (EMJM) in Planetary Geosciences will bring together innovative teaching practices and methodologies, with a specific focus on the use of new technologies such as virtual reality. Students will also have the opportunity to interact with technology companies linked to the development of instrumentation and services for the space industry.
