Affiliation normalization procedures

1) In all publications, the affiliation of professors and researchers must include, in this order, University, R&D Unit, Teaching Unit (separated by a comma), and the research unit may be designated in full or through a standardized acronym , as in the following examples:
- University of Coimbra, MARE-Marine and Environmental Sciences Centre, Department of Earth Sciences, P-3030 790 Coimbra, Portugal,
- University of Coimbra, CGEO - Geociences Center, Department of Earth Sciences, P-3030 790 Coimbra, Portugal,
or
- University of Coimbra, MARE, Department of Earth Sciences, P-3030 790 Coimbra, Portugal,
- University of Coimbra, CGEO, Department of Earth Sciences, P-3030 790 Coimbra, Portugal

2) In international publications, the university and the department must be designated in English: University of Coimbra, Department of Earth Sciences.

3) In case of double affiliation, this must be explained and the University of Coimbra must be indicated in 1st place so that the publication can be considered in the Performance Evaluation at the UC.

4) DCT-FCTUC professors who carry out their research outside the FCTUC must always indicate the University of Coimbra and the Department of Earth Sciences in the affiliation, as expressed in 1).

5) Postgraduate students must indicate their affiliation as expressed in 1), possibly taking into account a second departmental or institutional affiliation when justified.

6) Researchers or professors who carry out research at FCTUC, but who do not have a contract with FCTUC, must always indicate in their affiliation the research center where they carried out the work. It is recommended, in this case, that the university of Coimbra is also indicated in the affiliation, and a dual affiliation can be used.
