National or equivalent applicants


The University of Coimbra offers various forms of access to its programmes.

For national students or equivalent candidates, access to Bachelor's or Integrated Master's programmes is via theNational Competition for Access to Higher Education (see specific rules).

International applicants

The University of Coimbra accepts applications from students who are not nationals of European Union countries and are not covered by the special access regimes negotiated by the Portuguese State (more information).

Masters

All those who hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or are in the process of completing it, can apply to attend a Master's programme at the University of Coimbra, in which case the application is conditional on actually obtaining that degree (see specific rules for submitting conditional applications).

Doctorates

The Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra offers a wide choice of doctoral programmes, always associated with its R&D units. All those who hold a Master's or Integrated Master's degree or equivalent, or are in the process of completing it, can apply, in which case the application is conditional on actually obtaining this degree (see specific rules for submitting conditional applications).
