João Rui Pita – Featured Researcher

CEIS20 researcher João Rui Pita has recently been appointed Coordinator of the PhD in History of Science and Science Education at the University of Coimbra, on a proposal from the Director of iiiUC, Cláudia Cavadas. iiiUC is the host institution of this inter-university course between the UC and the University of Aveiro.

Within the framework of the 45th International Congress for the History of Pharmacy, held this year in Italy, he was awarded the Medalla ”Cátedra Centenaria. Historia de la Farmacia-Madrid Prize”, one of the world’s most prestigious prizes for the history of pharmacy awarded by the Chair of the History of Pharmacy at the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain, to an individual or organisation that has made an outstanding contribution to the development of the history of pharmacy.
