On 16 May, the webinar "EnlargEU: Reflecting on the Past, Envisioning the Future", will be held to analyse the future of EU enlargement. The event will be held via Zoom under the title "What For EU Enlargement?".

This initiative is jointly organised by the Department of History, European Studies, Archaeology and Arts of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra, the Centre for International Studies (CEIS20) and the Centre for Social Studies (CES).

Feature topics include "Security, Defence and External Relations", presented by Ana Santos Pinto (FCSH and IPRI-Nova); "Cultural and Political Landscapes", with a contribution by Joana Antunes (FLUC and CEAACP-GEMA); and "Europeanisation and Challenges to Democracy", presented by André Pereira Matos (Open University). The event aims to help think through the future of enlarging the European Union.

This webinar is a unique opportunity to discuss pressing issues and look to the future of EU enlargement with the expertise of leading experts in these areas of research.
