11 and 12 October 2019, Ponte de Lima

The colloquium “The School in the Estado Novo Period. Between History and Memory” combines historical research with knowledge from memory to link Portugal and Brazil in a discussion on primary education during that period.

The colloquium is part of the project “From individual memories to school memory(ies)”, organised by the Local Learning Centre of the Open University in Ponte de Lima and GRUPOEDE of the Centre for 21st Century Interdisciplinary Studies. These institutions have joined forces to collect and preserve the material and immaterial heritage of the schools of the Estado Novo period.
