CEIS20 integrated researcher Susana Mendes Silva (Group 4 – Artistic Currents and Intellectual Movements), visual artist, performer and professor at the University of Évora, will present the performance conference “Uma rua para a Ana” (A Street for Ana) as part of the 1st International Colloquium – 120th anniversary of the birth of Ana de Gonta Colaço in Parada de Gonta. This presentation is based on the work “Ana” – created for IN LOCO, a virtual gallery created by Terceira Pessoa and available at inloco.art – and the documentation on a performative journey based on the geographical coordinates of this work in the Alvalade neighbourhood in Lisbon.

Susana’s artistic work includes a research and archival component that translates into works whose historical and political references are materialised in exhibitions, actions and performances using the most diverse means of production. Her universe contemplates and reconfigures different social contexts without losing sight of the singularity of the individual. Their psychological intimacy or their voice are often vehicles for the dissemination and reception of poetic and political messages that evoke and reactivate the memory of participants and spectators.
