Associate Professor at the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon.
Doctor of Letters, in the specialty of History of Classical Antiquity.
Director of the FLUL’s bachelor’s degree program in History. Professor of the master’s and PhD in History (Ancient History) of the University of Lisbon. Researcher at the Centre for Classical Studies of the University of Lisbon and at the Centre for Classical and Humanistic Studies of the University of Coimbra.
Research focused on the study of Greek culture, especially religion, rite, and myth, and of late Roman Republic and High Empire’s politics and society, as well as of reception studies, namely the presence of classical antiquity in contemporary cultural expressions (cinema, TV, fine arts, and cartoons).
