FROGS

Iuvenalis Pictures

CECH has the great pleasure of partnering with "Iuvenalis Pictures" (a production company based at the Belgian University of Leuven) and its amateur film project "Frogs", which is the first feature film entirely spoken in ancient Greek.

The story of "Frogs" is an original combination of Aristophanes' "Frogs", Euripides' "Alceste", Plato's "Banquet" and "Batracomyarchy", joined by several parts written by the director himself, Thibaut Lejeune.

With the aim of reaching all those dedicated to the study and dissemination of Ancient Greek, the film will be presented with subtitles in several languages: English, Spanish, Dutch, German, Italian, French, Modern Greek, Portuguese, etc.

The Portuguese version is the responsibility of Rui Tavares de Faria, an integrated researcher at CECH and a member of the team of the complementary project "Artes Docendi- Investigação e Formação em Didática dos Estudos Clássicos".

Everyone is invited to subscribe to the Iuvenalis Pictures YouTube channel. The movie "Frogs" is scheduled to premiere on Friday 6 October at 7pm in Portugal.
